Jumanji: The Next Level sweeps into the multiplexes this week, having already notched up four full days of previews before it’s swept away in turn by the Star Wars juggernaut. Speaking of which, if you really must be the first to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, many cinemas have screenings at one minute past midnight on Thursday. Hardier nerds might even prefer the epic triple bill of the last couple of films followed by the first screening of the new one.
Elsewhere, the Bristol Film Festival kicks off its festive programme, the French Film festival on Tour arrives at the Watershed and the BFI Musicals season gathers pace. Once again, we’ve also rounded up all the Christmas films on offer this week. There’s something for everyone, from White Christmas to, er, Black Christmas. You also have two Nutcrackers to choose from.
