Bristol’s week in film: December 20-26 2019

Apparently there’s a new Star Wars movie out this week. Who knew, huh? If that doesn’t appeal, maybe it’s worth checking out whether Cats is really quite as stinky as some of the reviews suggest.

There are still plenty of Christmassy films on in the run-up to the big day, both in mainstream cinemas and novel venues colonised by the Bristol Film Festival. The Watershed is also bringing back a bunch of the year’s best films, in case you missed them or want to see them again on the big screen.

If you find yourself desperate to flee your relatives on Boxing Day, you’re in luck: three new films are being previewed, the most interesting of which is Greta Gerwig’s new take on Little Women.
