Uncut Gems

Director
Benny Safdie, Josh Safdie
Certificate
15
Running Time
135 mins

The Safdie brothers – Josh and Benny – cast none other than serial Golden Raspberry nominee Adam Sandler (hey – he was good in Punch-Drunk Love) as risk-addicted New York jeweller Howard Ratner (no relation to Gerald, apparently) in this palm-moistening, anxiety-inducing comedy-drama.

Brash, obnoxious Howard just can’t stop gambling, but even with debts mounting and creditors in hot pursuit he always has another card to play. Rapturously received at the Telluride Film Festival, this has been described as a cocaine rush of a movie. Go here for our full review.
