A much-acclaimed, genuinely creepy period arthouse horror flick from The Witch director Robert Eggers, with Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as lighthouse keepers descending into madness after becoming stranded on the remote New England island where they’ve been stationed.
Shot in monochome and boxy 4:3 ratio for added spookiness, it’s based in part on the Smalls lighthouse tragedy (Google it), which has inspired several other dramatists. Go here for our review.
