Summer Courtyard Cinema Club: Interview with the Vampire
Neil Jordan's adaptation of Anne Rice's gothic vampire yarn
Just a couple of weeks ago, we were suggesting the cinema might be a good place to shelter from the unseasonal cold and continuous rain. Well, here’s another thought: why not retreat from the searing heat into a lovely air-conditioned cinema?
This week’s biggie is the latest high-concept Richard Curtis romcom, Yesterday. Should that not appeal, alternative choices include Peter Strickland’s comic horror In Fabric and ace documentary Apollo 11.
There are previews of yet another superhero flick, Spider-Man: Far From Home, from late Monday night onwards and the very promising folk horror Midsommar on Wednesday and Thursday.
Should you wish to enjoy a screening in the great outdoors, the Royal Opera House’s Carmen is broadcast to Millennium Square on Tuesday and Bohemian Rhapsody comes to Blaise Castle on Saturday – though don’t bother if you haven’t got a ticket, as it’s already sold out. Oh, and Blade Runner and Interview with the Vampire are both showing (indoors) at Arnos Vale cemetery.
