Bristol’s week in film: September 6-12 2019

IT: Chapter Two is swallowing up just about every available multiplex screen this week as it aims to set yet another horror movie record. Nose around the margins, however, and you’ll find some quality stuff for minority interests, from French gay comedy The Shiny Shrimps to Jamaican reggae doc Inna de Yard.

Two of the year’s biggest event cinema broadcasts take place this week too. On Tuesday, Margaret Atwood unveils her long-awaited sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale. On Thursday, Phoebe Waller-Bridge returns to the stage with her original Fleabag one-woman play.
