Running Time
92 mins

Remember Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants? That 2013 French-Belgian animation won the Cesar Award for Best Animated Film but only had a very limited UK cinema release. Here’s the sequel from the same team, which was released back home as Mandibles from Far Away.

As before, it’s wordless fable that sets its CGI insecty cast against real-life backgrounds. This time, a ladybird gets stuck in a box that’s shipped to the Caribbean. His dad promptly sets off in hot pursuit.  “…a gorgeous, completely dialogue-less movie that’s suspenseful, easy to follow and a real pleasure to watch,” enthused the Hollywood Reporter.
