Feeling Christmassy yet? If so, you’ll be absolutely overjoyed to learn that the festive season’s first romcom, Last Christmas, opens this week. It’s got elves and Wham! and everything.
Of course, there’s a very slim possibility that you absolutely loathe the whole ghastly consumerist rigmarole, with its parties you don’t want to go to and relatives you have no desire to visit. In which case, there’s good news for you too. Alternative attractions include the very limited release of Scorsese’s Oscar-tipped nThe Irishman, Le Mans ’66 with Matt Damon and Christian Bale, and rug-rat zombie comedy Little Monsters.
The Bristol Film Festival has a whole bunch of events this week too, ranging from an evening at the Planetarium to a screening of the comedy classic Monty Python’s Life of Brian at John Cleese’s alma mater. The Bristol Bad film Club, meanwhile, delivers a feast of dreadful Satanic whupass action in the form of Empire of the Dark.
