Yet another of those pesky Netflix films that will be getting the briefest of cinema releases. Oscar nominated Noah (The Squid and the Whale) Baumbach‘s second film for the streaming service after 2017’s The Meyerowitz Stories is a comedy-drama of divorce that seems to have been inspired by the director’s own separation from Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver do the Kramer vs. Kramer thing. The film was lauded at Venice for its compassion and emotional complexity. “Maybe don’t watch it with your spouse, though,” advised Vanity Fair.
