Entitled junior Tory minister Alex Jennings and his miserable liberal wife of 30 years Lindsay Duncan joust in their idyllic cotswold abode as all manner of marital secrets are exposed over the course of a summer’s day back in 1988. Whoever could Simon Woods be hoping to remind us of in this searing new play for the National Theatre?

It’s directed by Simon Godwin, whose NT Live credits include Antony & Cleopatra and Twelfth Night, and forms part of National Theatre Live’s 10th birthday season. The play is broadcast live on November 7, with encore screenings to follow
