Two new kitchens to open sites in Wapping Wharf
Two new food businesses will soon have permanent homes in Wapping Wharf.
Toastie Queens and Rice and Shine will take up two adjacent units in the popular hub of shipping containers, replacing two Asian kitchens.
The toastie business by friends Shaz and Deb will open within the former Sushi and Shop of Seven Lucky Gods, serving toasties, milkshakes, ice cream, coffee and more.
Rice and Shine, a street food stall previously based in Bath, will be neighbours to the toastie makers, taking up what was previously home to Daily Noodles.

Shaz and Deb opened their first venture Rock Choc Cafe in Totterdown in November 2024. After a recent rebrand of their Wells Road site to Toastie Queens, they are now moving to the city centre.
The duo said: “After many years exploring different career paths, we decided over a gin or two that opening our own business would be a fabulous idea.
“Starting from Rock Choc Cafe in Totterdown, we’ve loved reinventing the humble toastie and sharing it with Bristol.
“Wapping Wharf is one of the city’s most vibrant food destinations, full of independent businesses, creativity, and a community that really values good food. We can’t wait to be part of it and welcome everyone to try our toasties and coffee.”

Soon to be neighbours Rice and Shine are popular for their Filipino comfort food, including dishes like bulalo broth, spicy pork belly, traditional slow-cooked beef stew and more.
Announcing their new home in Bristol, the Rice and Shine Kitchen team on Instagram said: “From market stall dreams to restaurant keys – built with love, culture, and a lot of hard work.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far, and for those who are new, we can’t wait to welcome you soon, Bristol.”
While Rice and Shine have not yet confirmed an opening date, Toastie Queens is scheduled to open on March 14.
