New Himalayan restaurant opening soon

A new restaurant specialising in Himalayan food is opening soon in a former opticians.

Himalayan Kitchen will be serving the varied cuisine from the Himalayas; a mountain range stretching across India, Nepal, China, Bhutan and Pakistan.

Himalayan Kitchen’s site on the corner of St Augustine’s Parade and Denmark Street was for many years an opticians and more recently a number of different restaurants.

“Our restaurant was created with a passion for sharing the rich culture, traditional recipes and warm dining experience of Nepal with our community,” their website says.

It promises more than 75 dishes “prepared using fresh ingredients, aromatic herbs and authentic Himalayan spices”.

They will be serving seafood, curries, soups, momos, cocktails and more.

Their website adds: “Our chefs bring years of culinary experience and traditional cooking techniques to every plate, ensuring each meal reflects the true taste of Nepal and the Himalayan region…

“We believe food is more than just a meal – it’s a way to bring people together and create lasting memories.”
