Barbecue restaurant team opens sister site
A newly opened restaurant in Montpelier will serve as a sister site to a smoked barbecue restaurant in Totterdown.
Fire Pit, which sits on the Picton Street intersection, has been launched by the same team that started Smokebox and plans to serve a similar mix of meat-based meals.
Nestled a stone’s throw away from the bustle of Stoke’s Croft, Fire Pit offers a fairy-lit site complete with outdoor seating.
Flatbreads are served at £15 or two for £25, with diners then able to choose between a chimichurri smoked brisket, surf and turf, Bangkok smoked brisket, chicken and chorizo or smoked mushrooms.
Pints sit at £6 and are currently all from Bristol-based breweries, though there are whispers of the possible introduction of some German beers.
Though the menu, which features a variety of brisket, pork and chicken as well as breakfast and pints, changes every week, the community sentiment behind it remains.
Going to Smoke Box and Fire Pit should feel like “sitting around a campfire with your family”, according to owner Alan James-Haile.
Speaking to Mags and Allen on Instagram, he explained his desire to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in the smoked barbecue world he has built.
The restaurant’s Instagram bio warns “influencers (jog on)”, so if you’re looking for somewhere to step away from the woes of short form content and the digital age to enjoy some good food, Fire Pit seems like a good place to start.
