New dim sum cocktail bar opens in city centre
Located at 10 Small Street, in the heart of Bristol’s Old City, Eightfold Dim Sum Cocktail Lounge is looking to bring “bold, authentic flavours” to Bristol’s Chinese food scene.
Dim sum is a southern Chinese culinary tradition of sharing small plates of rice, dumplings, vegetables, meat and seafood, often accompanied by tea.
Eightfold promises to “tempt your tastebuds” with its “savoury bites of culinary expertise.”

It also looks to provide a contemporary twist to dim sum, pairing small plates with innovative cocktails in place of the traditional tea.
In keeping with dim sum’s roots, each signature cocktail contains a tea, including as jasmine, oolong and pu-erh.
Reviewing the restaurant, @beccaeatingthings on Instagram described Eightfold as “stylish and curated”, particularly praising the dessert dish known as a “custard bun” (nai wong bao).

Bao buns are a common feature of Eightfold’s menu, along with the staple rice and noodle dishes.
However, meat and seafood dominates the menu, with vegetarian alternatives limited to tofu.
Eightfold’s website characterises the location as ideal for “an evening out or a late-night escape.”
The website says: “Our dim sum is crafted to be savoured – each bite freshly steamed, delicately folded and filled with bold, authentic flavours.

“From classic favourites to modern creations, every dish is made with premium ingredients and careful attention to detail.
“Designed for sharing and perfect for pairing with our cocktails, our dim sum brings comfort, elegance and excitement to every table.”
