Lebanese restaurant swaps Swindon for Bristol

By Martin Booth  Monday Feb 20, 2023

A Lebanese restaurant in Swindon which went into liquidation is reopening under the same name in Bristol.

The company behind Lamaya in Swindon entered voluntary liquidation on June 29 2022.

A former member of staff spoke to the Swindon Advertiser after the restaurant’s closure but Bristol24/7 has been told that the information in this article is not factually accurate.

Lamaya in Regent Circus in Swindon was both a Lebanese restaurant and shisha terrace.

Its smaller site in Bristol has now had its signage installed.

Bristol’s Lamaya is opening on Hawkins Lane in Finzels Reach between Left Handed Giant and Bocabar, close to new chocolate cafe Ruby Hue.

A licensing application in 2022 asked for a single-floor restaurant and bar for Lamaya in Finzels Reach, with no outside area.

Mohamed Mahdi, the one director of Lamaya (Swindon) Ltd – also registered with Companies House as Mike & Maya Trading As Lamaya Ltd – is the sole director of Lamaya Restaurant Bristol Ltd, which is registered at Steele Financial in Bradley Stoke.
