Three music venues awarded charity grant

By Issy Packer  Wednesday Feb 22, 2023

Music Venue Trust has been a registered charity since 2014, working hard to protect, secure and improve the UK live music network by securing the long-term future of iconic grassroots music venues.

The Exchange, The Loco Klub and Trinity are among 13 other recipients who have received up to £5000 as part of a third round of recipients for its major new funding initiative Music Venue Trust’s Pipeline Investment Fund.

The Pipeline Investment Fund was established in 2022 with the first round of payments being granted in December 2022 to 11 grassroots music venues who received £40,000.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

A further 14 were awarded almost £70,000 in January. This is the third round of payments and sees a total sum of £55203 awarded to grassroots music venues across the country.

The Exchange received £5000 from MVT’s Pipeline Investment Fund to pay for new DJ equipment to reduce hire costs and improve production to attract better artists.

The Loco Klub received £4956.99 to pay for a new accessible toilet solution to replace a hired, expensive portaloo.

Trinity received £4134.69 to pay to improve the lighting rig and purchase staff uniforms to improve safety.

Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust said: “The Pipeline Investment Fund proves what we have been saying for some time – small amounts of money, sensibly invested, can make a real difference to grassroots music venues.

“This fund is essential for artists and audiences, improving the places they love and ensuring that they are keeping up to date with the latest equipment, training, access and sustainability opportunities. We hope the industry will seize the opportunity to get involved.”
