Mumford & Sons film new video in Bristol social club
A social club marooned in one corner of Ikea’s car park is the surprising setting of a new music video from Mumford & Sons.
The Banjo Song is taken from Mumford & Sons’ sixth studio album, Prizefighter, which was released on Friday.
The video filmed at the Eastville Club features dancers handpicked by events promoters Streets of Soul having met them at their club nights across Bristol.
When Bristol Rovers played at the former Eastville Stadium, the Eastville Club was their official supporters club and the building has remained.
Streets of Soul founders Levanna McLean aka Northern Soul Girl and Eve, also known as DJ Jackie Brown, said “these are the dancers that always brighten up our dancefloors, the ones that love to dance”.
The mother and daughter duo told Bristol24/7: “The combination of having real people who love dancing – from all walks of life and just having fun – was the magic.
“We were in the fortunate position of seeing many of these dancers regularly at our events, and knowing the ones who livened up the dance floor made it easy to cast this video.”
