The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Lily James stars in a period romance adapted from the 2008 bestseller
If you’re eager to see bits of Bristol on screen, you’ll be delighted to learn that a few scenes in this week’s big period drama The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society were shot in the city docks, with Lily James alighting from the Balmoral.
Elsewhere, we’ve got Juliette Binoche in Let the Sunshine In, the latest silvery screen release The Leisure Seeker, well-received horror Wildling and a very limited release of Funny Cow with Maxine Peake in the title role.
The latest Marvel juggernaut, Avengers: Infinity War, arrives on Thursday – in 2D and 3D, naturally. If you’re determined to see this one before anyone else, many multiplexes have screenings at one minute past midnight. As usual, the Vue Cribbs Causeway is going the extra mile by being open virtually all night. You could even catch a screening at 7am before going to work all bleary-eyed and sated with superheroics.
