Yep, Italian director Paolo Virzì‘s English-language debut is yet another contribution to the familiar ‘going out in style’ genre of grey pound cinema. Shamefully, not all reviewers have been moved or touched. “Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland can do anything – except, perhaps, save this sentimental drool bucket of senior cinema,” remarked Rolling Stone‘s suitably stone-hearted critic.
