The career of bisexual Puerto Rican ’70s fashion designer Antonio Lopez and his suitably outrageous scenester chums in the pre-AIDS disco era certainly looks like a compelling subject for a documentary.
Alas, what we get is a bunch of ‘beautiful people’ queuing up to say how absolutely fabulous the late Mr. Lopez was in what proves to be skimpy and superficial film. There’s some great archive footage but very little analysis or context. “It’s like being told about an awesome party when you really just want to be there,” remarked The Times.
