Bristol Waste appoints new managing director
Bristol Waste Company has appointed Rob Heath as its new managing director, with him due to start in early September 2026.
Heath brings almost 40 years of experience in waste management and environmental services, having worked across the sector from driver to executive leadership roles at companies including Biffa, SUEZ and Ubico.
Most recently executive operations director at Ubico, Heath helped drive business growth, improve service delivery and strengthen operational and safety teams. He also has experience working within Teckal company structures, which Bristol Waste said gives him an understanding of its partnership with Bristol City Council.
Heath said: “I am thrilled to join Bristol Waste Company and to lead the teams making Bristol safer, cleaner, and more sustainable. Having worked across all levels of environmental services… I know how vital our frontline work is to local communities.”

Andrew Pollard, chair of Bristol Waste Company, said: “We’re delighted to have attracted someone of Rob’s calibre… Rob brings considerable experience in the waste management and recycling sector… and a strong track record of leadership in operational services.”
Tony Dyer, leader of Bristol City Council, welcomed the appointment and said Heath’s experience and understanding of the relationship between the organisations would support efforts to improve collection reliability, reduce litter and fly-tipping, expand recycling and decarbonise the fleet.
