National law firm extends Belmont partnership for nature recovery
National law firm TLT has renewed its partnership with Belmont Estate for a further three years, extending a collaboration that began in 2022.
The agreement will see the firm continue investing in nature recovery, carbon reduction projects and community access to nature until at least 2029.
Since the partnership began, TLT said it has supported the recovery of 425,000 square metres of habitat, funded 500 hours of nature connection activities for more than 15,000 children and adults, and helped secure a 30-year conservation covenant for Belmont’s Watercress Farm in North Somerset.
The firm has also backed peatland restoration projects in the Scottish Highlands as part of its carbon offsetting strategy.

TLT said it has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 93 per cent compared with its 2019 baseline, exceeding its near-term Science Based Targets initiative target five years ahead of schedule.
Under the renewed agreement, the firm will increase investment in Belmont’s Aberarder peatland restoration project, fund 400 hours of nature connection each year, target 320 annual volunteering hours by employees and commit to recovering 225 square metres of nature each year over the next 30 years.
Belmont Estate has been redefining the traditional estate, creating a business model based on the values of environmental restoration, sustainable food production and the reconnection of people to nature.
Henry Rossiter, business development director at Belmont, said: “TLT and Belmont are an ideal fit. Together we have demonstrated our shared commitment to sustainability through regeneration and that our alliance is a successful one, grounded in delivering genuine impact.
“I am delighted that our work together will continue at least through to 2030 and look forward to welcoming many more TLT colleagues and clients on our restoration journey.”

Maria Connolly, partner and head of future energy & real estate at TLT, added: “Four years into our successful partnership with Belmont Estate we are really proud of what we’ve achieved together. But there remains work to do.
“Committing to continued collaboration for an extended three-year period cements a pipeline of increased volunteering, funding, and, importantly, recovery that allows us to effect more meaningful change together.
“Our partnership is about so much more than offsetting – we’re investing in nature-based solutions that unlock ecosystems, support communities and create long-term impact.”
