The Bristol Community Festival Thankyou Awards celebrate the people, groups and volunteers whose everyday social action helps make Bristol a better place, recognising those who foster connection, creativity and community spirit across the city.

Reflecting on her volunteering, Toto said: “I like to make people feel welcome and I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable coming to Food Club. I like making the space look nice and tidy like a farm shop. Volunteering at Food Club every week helps me feel immersed in the community.”

Toto has volunteered at Stockwood Community Hub for many years, becoming a familiar face at the weekly Food Club while also supporting Growing Together, the hub’s community gardening project.

“I like making the space look nice and tidy like a farm shop. Volunteering at Food Club every week helps me feel immersed in the community,” said Toto

Her award recognises the care, kindness and consistency she brings to the role each week.

The recognition also highlights the wider impact volunteers have in communities such as Stockwood.
