The Bristol Community Festival Thankyou Awards celebrate the people, groups and volunteers whose everyday social action helps make Bristol a better place, recognising those who foster connection, creativity and community spirit across the city.
Reflecting on her volunteering, Toto said: “I like to make people feel welcome and I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable coming to Food Club. I like making the space look nice and tidy like a farm shop. Volunteering at Food Club every week helps me feel immersed in the community.”
Toto has volunteered at Stockwood Community Hub for many years, becoming a familiar face at the weekly Food Club while also supporting Growing Together, the hub’s community gardening project.
