Bristol kids get to travel in the footsteps of King Charles III
On Monday, 30 children from six primary schools right across Bristol got the chance to fly out to Bristol’s twin city of Bordeaux to take part in an exciting four day sporting, cultural and educational programme that will last in their memories forever.
It’s the first delegation to visit Bordeaux since King Charles III official state visit last week and also that of Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees who attended a ceremony in the French city to mark 75 years of the Bristol-Bordeaux twinning and deep friendship.
For many of these young people it will be the first time they will have flown on a plane and travelled abroad, so the journey may for once be as important as the destination.
And as all click on their seat belts and listen to their very first safety demonstration by the cabin crew rest assured some unique and very special life long memories will be being made.
Led by award-winning Community of Purpose CIC and thanks to the support of some incredible businesses including Olympian Homes, Lancer Scott Ltd, Fortice, Made for Impact, Rakata, and Quartet Community Foundation these young people who are pupils from 6 schools get the chance to be part of this life changing trip – making new friends and helping transform their lives and experiences.
With a football match against a local Bordeaux school and a visit to a professional game at The Matmut Stadium.

The schools are; Bannerman Road Community Academy & Children’s Centre, Glenfrome Primary School, Four Acres Academy, St Werburghs Primary School, West Town Lane Academy & Whitchurch Primary School.
