Horses! Horses!

Date: Monday, Feb 10 - Thursday, Mar 5
Venue: Bristol and North Somerset: various venues

Wassail Theatre join forces again with Theatre Orchard to tour Rina Vergano’s play to pubs across Bristol, Somerset and North Somerset in February and March, 2020.

“The Pub is the Hub, ladies and gents, so it’s use it or lose it time”. Johnny’s putting on a Big Fun fundraiser tonight at the Nags Head, though he’s not in the mood for fun…

While landlord Johnny is desperately trying to save his pub, his wife Susie is hiding out down on Ted’s farm.

Horses! Horses! is the darkly comical tale of a stolen horse, wild west-country soul, and most of all, the mess we make of relationships. Performed in the midst of your local boozer with pub games, pints, crisps, heartbreak and laughter, county music, lots of karaoke and a few surprises.

Shortlisted for the Tobacco Factory Theatres’ ScriptSpace Award, Horses! Horses! was first developed through Bristol Old Vic Ferment.

“An innovative, entertaining, and perceptive piece of work with a clear, compelling voice.” (Bristol Old Vic)

“A fun play written in the vernacular of the pub, with a strong voice and a brave theatrical bent, that keeps audiences at its heart throughout.” (Tobacco Factory Theatres ScriptSpace panel)

Horses! Horses! will be touring to pubs and bars in Somerset and North Somerset. Many of the shows will be free events where punters can leave a donation at the end.  Some are ticketed with advance booking recommended.
