Silliness, slapstick and storytelling: welcome to Silent Movie Improv
As continuing improvised shows including Closer Each Day and Tales From the Wasteland demonstrate week after week, improv is often reliant upon hilarious audience suggestions and killer lines, delivered spontaneously.
Taking the artform in another direction and combining a love of silent cinema with improvised comedy, Bristol Improv Theatre will be hosting a night of Silent Movie Improv on August 15.
It promises to take the audience back to “the joy of pure simple comedy”.

Emulating silent era cinema, the event will also feature live musical accompaniment.
“Step into the flickering dream of the roaring ‘20s a world away from digital influences”, organisers say.
“Expect silliness, slapstick, and improbable feats of fantastical storytelling with no script, no director, and no words!”
