Neighbours allowed back into homes after house explosion
A police officer stood guard outside 16 Sterncourt Road in Frenchay soon after 6pm on Monday evening as neighbours returned to their homes for the first time since an explosion at the house the previous day in which a man and a woman were killed.
The cordon has now been lifted on the cul-de-sac which backs onto a small stream; but police tape still surrounds the house where the explosion happened, with a front window boarded up.
An Avon & Somerset Police statement on Monday said the investigation remains “complex and sensitive”.
Three people including a child were injured in the explosion at around 6.30am on Sunday morning.
Nobody needed to remain in hospital overnight and police have also finished conducting enquiries at another location in Speedwell.
