Man charged in relation to theft of museum artefacts

A man has been charged with handling stolen goods in relation to a burglary which saw hundreds of museum artefacts stolen.

Dean Hall, 41, of Prewett Street in Redcliffe, who is currently on police bail, will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The charges against Hall relate to an ongoing police investigation into the theft of “high value” items from a storage facility off Cumberland Road on September 25 2025.

More than 600 artefacts are believed to have been stolen from Bristol museum service’s British Empire and Commonwealth collection including medals, jewellery, carved ivory figurines and geological specimens.
