Michelin recognition for Wapping Wharf restaurant
A small restaurant in Bristol has been given one of the global food scene’s highest accolades.
Ragù in Wapping Wharf is now the holder of a prestigious Bib Gourmand from Michelin, one of 37 restaurants across the UK and Ireland to be recognised for the first time.
Michelin inspectors praise the restaurant from Mark and Karen Chapman – also behind COR on North Street – as offering “the pure joy of classic Italian cooking in simple surroundings”.
There is now “no set formula” to win a Bib Gourmand, with restaurants needing to offer “good quality, good value cooking”.
The new Bib Gourmand accolades come ahead of the upcoming Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2026 ceremony where new stars are announced.
Bristol currently holds two Michelin stars: Bulrush on Cotham Road South in Cotham and Wilsons on Chandos Road in Redland.
