A cafe with outside seating has opened in Broadmead.

Jamaica Blue was founded in Australia in 1992 and now has more than 150 locations across the world.

Its first branch in Bristol is in Broadmead next to Sports Direct, serving brunch items, sandwiches and cakes, alongside coffee.

Jamaica Blue’s name refers to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, “one of the best coffee producing regions in the world” where the cafe chain sources its coffee and according to Jamaica Blue’s website.

The business’ two core beliefs are “a belief in sourcing the very best coffee; and a belief in using only fresh, premium ingredients to deliver contemporary cafe dishes with a twist”.

Jamaica Blue is now open in Broadmead

Michael Johnson, head of franchise development at Foodco UK, the owners of Jamaica Blue, said: “We’re thrilled to open Jamaica Blue in Bristol… and to welcome our first customers through the doors.

“This is an exciting moment for the brand as we bring our speciality coffee, freshly prepared brunch, lunch and sweet treats to one of the city’s busiest retail destinations, while also creating valuable employment opportunities for the local community.”
