Two of Bristol’s independent venues pair up for brand new festival

By Issy Packer  Friday Mar 31, 2023

A collaborative project between The Jam Jar and Lost Horizon, Jam on The Horizon is the debut event taking place on May 6.

The 14 hour festival will take place at four different venues around St Judes, including The Volunteer Tavern and The Swan With 2 Necks as well Lost Horizon and The Jam Jar.

Promising a range of genres, from world music and global bass, bhangra and balkan to jazz, funk and broken beats, the festival has released their first wave of acts.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Topping the bill is UK Asian Music Award winner Panjabi MC who has been credited with popularizing bhangra music.

Other acts include Grupo Lokito who fuses contemporary Congolese grooves with the fire of Cuban music, the British-Coombian DJ Bushbby, Blind Yeo and founder of Run Dem Crew, Charlie Dark.

More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Laurence Walker, Head of Events at Lost Horizon, says: “Since we opened our doors in 2021, it’s been a goal to host a multi-venue festival platforming St Judes amazing cultural spaces.

“With so many similar acts and interest between both venues it was obvious a collab was due! On May 6th we’ll be filling St Judes with that warm, familiar festival spirit.“
