New Film Releases: May 25-31 2018

It’s all about Solo: A Star Wars Story this week (in 2D and 3D) as the Star Wars anthology flick does battle with Deadpool 2 to swallow up every cinema screen and attempts to overcome all that negative advance publicity. This contest is likely to go on until Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom turns up on June 6.

A few other new releases have managed to colonise the margins, notably Edie and On Chesil Beach. And for the nippers, there’s Show Dogs and The Little Vampire. Speaking of smaller cinemagoers, the weather forecast for half-term week seems pretty shitty as usual, so we’ve helpfully corralled all the kids’ films showing locally in one of the carousels below. We spoil you, really we do.
