Not the lavish recent Ken Branagh version, but Sidney Lumet‘s 1974 adaptation of the Agatha Christie whodunnit, which is often decribed as the finest screen version of her work. Albert Finney bagged an Oscar nomination for his Poirot, which is a tad less OTT than the Peter Ustinov incarnation, while Ingrid Bergman won Best Actress for her performance as Greta Ohlsson. The splendid supporting cast includes Lauren Bacall, Sean Connery, Jacqueline Bisset, Richard Widmark, Vanessa Regrave, Anthony Perkins and Michael York.
