Early Man

Director
Nick Park
Certificate
PG
Running Time
89 mins

Nick Park‘s first feature film as director since 2005’s Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is a prehistoric romp following Dug the caveman (Eddie Redmayne) and his warthog sidekick Hognob as they lead their lovable yet primitive tribe against dastardly Bronze Age leader Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston).

Shot on location in, er, Aardman’s Aztec West warehouse, it also features local voice cast talent in the form of Maisie Williams, who’s cast as the rebellious Goona. The all-Brit supporting cast includes Timothy Spall as the voice of Chief Bobnar. He’s the leader of the misfit tribe, which includes Treebor (Richard Ayoade), Magma (Selina Griffiths), Asbo (Johnny Vegas), Barry (Mark Williams), Gravelle (Gina Yashere), Eemak (Simon Greenall) and Grubup (Richard Webber).
