Truth or Dare
It Follows meets Final Destination in Blumhouse horror flick
If you fancy leaving your brain at the box office and enjoying Dwayne Johnson battling giant mutant beasts, look no further than Rampage (in 2D and 3D) for your big screen fun this week. Those who prefer something a little more cerebral are spoiled for choice with a whole bunch of new arthouse releases, ranging from award-winning French drama Custody to the Bulgarian-German western, er, Western.
There’s plenty of music-related event cinema this week, including Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow discussing their Ex Machina soundtrack at the Watershed, Jaws in concert at the Colston Hall, Luisa Miller live from the Met, the remastered Concert for George, and Scream for Me Sarajevo – the documentary about Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson’s show in the besieged city. Oh, and if you’re in the mood to frug in the aisles or sing along, Grease is back on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.
As usual, follow the links for trailers, screening venues and times, and go here for our comprehensive film listings.
