Running Time
143 mins

A lengthy, multiple award-winning AIDS-era love story, written and directed by former ACT UP activist Robin Campillo and based on his own experiences in Paris during the 1990s.

Campillo’s ensemble drama explores the urgent social activism of the early years of the epidemic, as justifiably outraged ACT UP members take direct action against the government and pharmaceutical giants. But rather than simply being an agit-prop drama, 120 BPM is both colourful and funny, being held together with a moving central love story involving new recruit Nathan (Arnaud Valois) and radical militant Sean (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart).
