Bristol businesses invited to cargo bike showcase
Bristol businesses are being invited to take part in a city-wide event showcasing how cargo bikes can support more sustainable and efficient operations.
Organised by Bristol Business Improvement District (BID) and Bristol City Council, the free event on Thursday will highlight how businesses are using cargo bikes to cut congestion, improve air quality and reduce costs.
The day will begin with a group ride through Bristol city centre starting from Lloyds Amphitheatre at 10.30am, followed by a business information session at Creative Youth Network, where organisations can network, view different cargo bike models and learn about financial support and grants available through the council.
Businesses will also have the chance to visit Bristol’s new freight consolidation hub, the first of three planned across the city.

The event forms part of Bristol BID’s Cargo Bikes for Business Programme, which supports organisations in adopting lower-emission transport through subsidies and consultancy.
Confirmed exhibitors include Minimal, CityQ and Slant.
Tom Swithinbank, senior project manager at Bristol BID, said the initiative had seen growing interest from businesses seeking practical ways to reduce emissions while maintaining efficient and cost-effective operations.
He said: “Since launching Cargo Bikes for Business, we’ve seen growing interest from organisations looking for practical ways to reduce emissions while maintaining efficient and cost-effective operations.
“Businesses across Bristol are already demonstrating how cargo bikes can support everything from deliveries and logistics to day-to-day services, and we’re keen to help even more organisations explore the opportunities available.

“This double event line-up is an opportunity to celebrate the businesses already leading the way, share practical insights and showcase how cargo bikes can help organisations operate more sustainably while supporting a cleaner, less congested city.”
Ed Plowden, chair of the Transport and Connectivity Committee, said businesses across Bristol were already saving fuel and avoiding traffic through cargo bikes, adding that the city’s new consolidation hubs would help increase these benefits further.
Businesses interested in showcasing their own services or learning more about cargo bike adoption are encouraged to reserve their spot at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cargo-bikes-for-business-celebration-ride-and-business-event-tickets
