Leeds law firm launches first South West branch in Bristol

By Milan Perera  Tuesday Jul 14, 2026

A law firm, with its headquarters in Leeds, has opened its first South West office in Bristol, marking the firm’s third location.

Tyr has opened its Bristol branch at Newminster House on Baldwin Street, with the office being led by dispute resolution specialists Darren Kidd and Martin Cox.

The expansion follows what the firm described as a strong opportunity to “establish a presence in the South West”, citing Bristol’s growing reputation as a major legal centre.

Darren Kidd, who specialises in banking and financial disputes, including fraud and professional negligence claims, said: “There was a fantastic opportunity to launch a new office in the South West. The talent is fantastic in the area, and like Leeds, Bristol is seen as a substantial legal arena competing with London.”

The firm, which was founded in 2019, said its approach focuses on building close client relationships and understanding clients’ commercial goals, with a reputation for handling complex legal work.

The firm specialises on a wide range of domestic and international commercial disputes, with a particular focus in banking and financial services matters.
