Bestselling author of Bristol-based crime fiction series to launch his new book
Growing up in Bristol, it made absolute sense for director-turned bestselling novelist Tim Sullivan to set his crime series in the city where he spent his formative years.
He has now penned seven books featuring DS George Cross, a neurodivergent detective inspector in Avon & Somerset Police whose characteristic detachment and dogged attitude makes him highly effective at his job.
Sullivan has now sold over a million copies, and counts Sir Stephen Fry, Gary Barlow and Jeremy Vine amongst his fans.
is needed now More than ever
The eighth book in the series is set for release on July 16. Titled The Tailor, it sees Cross investigating a mysterious death on the Bristol-Paddington line.

A bespoke tailor boards the 09:26 train from Bristol to London. Before it even reaches Bath, his body is found slumped lifeless in the toilet.
At first glance it looks like a robbery, but the truth is more complicated than that. Why was the man found with a plastic bag over his head? Why was his throat cut in such a savage way? DS George Cross realises that this was no mugging – it was an organised hit.
The Tailor will be officially launched at Waterstones in the Galleries on publication day, where Sullivan will be in conversation with journalist and award-winning true crime podcaster, Rob Murphy (Behind the Crimes).
