New event to bring together businesses and student entrepreneurs
A group of Year 2 Business Team Entrepreneurship students at the UWE Bristol are calling on local firms to get involved in a new Business Expo aimed at connecting students with entrepreneurs.
Kelly Peters, Jake Roberts, Rhodri Jones and Caitlyn Allison have organised the event as part of their hands-on course, gaining real-world experience in event management while creating networking and collaboration opportunities for fellow students.
The event will offer businesses the chance to showcase their work, meet potential graduates and explore future partnerships.
The students have been reaching out to companies across Bristol, Bath and the surrounding area to build what they describe as an inclusive, supportive space for sharing ideas and sparking new opportunities.

Speaking about the motivation behind the event, Kelly Peters said: “We’re passionate about keeping this event affordable and accessible, so everyone has the opportunity to attend, learn, and make meaningful connections.
“As Business Team Entrepreneurship students, our course really encourages practical, hands-on learning and skill development, and this expo has been an incredible way to put those skills into practice.
“It’s been amazing to see how willing local businesses and entrepreneurs have been to collaborate with and support us as upcoming students, and that encouragement has been hugely motivating. We’re so excited to bring everything together and see the impact this event will have.”
Jake Roberts added: “Over the past few months, creating a space where entrepreneurs, business owners, and students can collaborate, share ideas, and pitch to each other has truly been insightful. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone on the day and exploring different businesses.”
Sarah Rice, director of communications consultancy Rice PR, will be taking to the stage to speak on The Value of Storytelling in Your Future Career, who noted the ability to tell a compelling story is one of the most powerful tools in business.
“Storytelling isn’t a soft skill, it’s a strategic one,” says Sarah. “The leaders who can communicate with clarity, authenticity and purpose are the ones who build businesses people believe in. I’m looking forward to sharing some storytelling tips and insights with the next generation.”
The event will take place on February 24 from 10am to 4pm at UWE’s Frenchay campus.
