‘Premium blank apparel’ brand opens first South West outlet in Bristol
A New Zealand-founded fashion brand, billed as “premium blank apparel”, has opened its first South West outlet in Bristol.
AS Colour, founded in Auckland back in 2005, has opened its Bristol branch on Park Street, the space previously occupied by the optician chain Ollie Quinn.
The brand, which prides itself on traceability and sustainability, said the response from Bristol has already been “encouraging” since opening on Wednesday.

The two-storey site, spanning the ground floor and basement, stocks its signature blank T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps, beanies, trousers and youth apparel.
Denim and corduroy feature as complementary lines.
Speaking to Bristol24/7, shop manager George Frank said the blank apparel lends itself well to artistic collaboration and custom printing for local businesses.
He said: “I think with Bristol being a creative city, opening our first store in the South West was a natural fit.”

The fashion brand is continuing its UK expansion, with branches opening up in Newcastle and Leeds alongside its existing outlets in London’s Shoreditch and Leighton Buzzard.
The shop sits just a few doors down from another sustainability-conscious brand, Nudie Jeans, which opened in December 2025.
Bristol will also welcome the first South West outlet of the global fashion brand Uniqlo, championed by the likes of Roger Federer, to Cabot Circus on April 16.
Despite the competition, AS Colour believes its offering stands apart.

The stock also includes plain caps
Frank added: “I think sustainability is a huge part of the business. We can trace materials right back to their source and ensure staff are well looked after at every stage – from wholesale and the warehouse through to the shop floor.
“It’s something we genuinely care about, alongside maintaining a premium level of quality. You can really feel that in the fabrics, particularly in the T-shirts.
“There’s also a wide range – different colours, with options for both men and women – all centred around plain clothing.

“That opens up opportunities for local artists to collaborate. We’ve already had people come in, even on opening day, who are running events and are keen to work with us.”
