Unusual restaurant to open in unusual harbourside location

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Sep 3, 2019

A restaurant that started on Gloucester Road before moving to Clifton Village is opening a second site in an unusual building overlooking the Floating Harbour.

New Moon hopes to open in late-September within what is officially known as The Kiosk on Cathedral Walk.

For many years, it was a Caffe Gusto before becoming a short-lived burger restaurant and most recently the second outpost of Cotham Hill cafe Young & Foodish.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

New Moon is due to open in the former Young & Foodish in late-September

The small plates format at New Moon’s restaurant on The Mall next door to The Ivy looks set to be replicated at their second home.

A USP of New Moon, from Bulgarian-born chef-proprietor Takvor Terlemezyan, known as TK, is that its menu changes every two weeks to showcase the cuisine of a different country.

TK and his New Moon team promise “dishes that speak to the heart… dishes that (are) elegant and balanced, traditional and with new interesting personality. Dishes that make you happy and satisfied.”
