The people of Bristol were invited to “immerse yourself in the colours, sounds and stories of South Asia” for a special day filled with cultural stalls, craft activities and performances.
Bristol Museum & Art Gallery was the setting for South Asian Heritage Month Festival, which aimed to “bring communities together to learn, connect and celebrate” and saw dancing and music as well as speeches from Pat Hart, CEO of BCfm Radio, and Sheetal Jethwa, founder of South Asian Voices.
It was curated by Bangladeshi Bristol Women’s Group and the Pakistani Welfare Organisation as part of the national festival which highlights the histories and contributions of South Asian communities across the UK.
