Rotis, rice bowls and more at new Thai restaurant
Rotis, rice bowls and plates of “big” Thai flavours are now available at a new restaurant in Bristol.
Brother Thai opened in what was previously Hotplate in the Carriageworks on Stokes Croft.
Owner and chef Andrew Chongsathie said the new restaurant’s location felt like a “natural home” for them.
“It’s an area that celebrates independence, diversity and creativity – all values that are at the core of what we do,” he said. “We are a family-owned business, and it’s important that we maintain that connection with our diners.”

Brother Thai gained popularity while trading at the weekly Harbourside Market in the Centre.
Andrew and his team went on to open their first bricks-and-mortar premise in Cardiff in 2021.
Sticky beef roti, Thai fried chicken satay rice and khao soi are some classics from their Cardiff location now available at their restaurant on Stokes Croft.
Among dishes available for vegetarians are their award-winning roasted jackfruit rotis and crispy mushroom laab
In a post on Instagram, the Brother Thai team said: “And then there were two! Cardiff & Bristol, we’re feeling the love.
“Thanks for turning up hungry night after night to our little independent rotibars.
“We’re all about big Thai flavours, perfectly chilled beers, cocktails that hit the spot & of course….the good vibes!
“This is what we do & we love it!”
