Bristol hospitality group recognised with special prize
A hospitality group who are committed to numerous charitable causes while running some of Bristol’s best restaurants have been given a one-off award at a ceremony in London.
The Pony Group were honoured at the 2026 Cateys awards with a prize to celebrate their commitment to This is Hospitality, the Caterer’s campaign celebrating the UK’s amazing hospitality industry.
The Caterer team declared the Pony Group, founded by brother and sister duo Josh and Holly Eggleton, “worthy winners”.

“Readers voted for the group having been inspired by its unwavering commitment to giving back, which include taking its Pony Bus to schools and events to provide food education as part of the work of its community interest company.”
As well as running restaurants including the Pony, Root and Salt & Malt, the group are key members of Team Canteen which channels support from the hospitality industry to alleviate food insecurity in Bristol.
Josh and Holly are also both panellists in the 2026 edition of EatDrink24/7, Bristol24/7’s food and drink guide which is currently being distributed across the city.
Other awards at the Cateys included Sir Rocco Forte and Lady Olga Polizzi awarded the International Outstanding Achievement Award; David Moore picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award; the Special Award to Mary-Ellen McTague; Flat Iron’s Tom Byng for Restaurateur of the Year; and Pastry Chef of the Year awarded to Ross Sneddon.
The Caterer editor, James Stagg, said: “Congratulations to all of our outstanding winners.
