Much-loved bakery and cafe to open at Bristol Cathedral

By Karen Johnson  Wednesday Oct 9, 2024

A much-loved bakery and cafe is joining forces with Bristol Cathedral in a unique collaboration.

Pinkmans will soon be taking over the cafe within the cathedral, serving among other things the bakery’s famous doughnuts.

After a major refurbishment over the last two years, the cathedral’s cafe now has level access throughout and will open out to the cathedral’s little known garden.

Ahead of the cafe’s opening , Pinkmans group general manager, Cristina Cochior and owner of Pinkmans, Ross Gibbens said: “We are excited to be working with Bristol Cathedral and its team. Since the moment we opened discussions, it was clear that we are all driven by the quality of our guest experience and a passion for community…

“We’ve missed life on Park Street since the fire last year and can’t wait to give everyone their fix of sourdoughnuts and freshly baked goods, seven days a week.”

The cafe’s opening also coincides with the inauguration of a seven-metre installation called Gaia, by artist Luke Jerram.

Visitor experience director at Bristol Cathedral, Frances Rosewell, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming everyone to the brand-new cafe.

“The beautiful new space will enhance every visit to the Cathedral and provide the perfect spot for lunch during a visit to Gaia.

“It is clear that Pinkmans share our value of openness and our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality alongside a passion for exceptional food and drink.”

The new cafe will open on October 15 and run seven days a week. For more information visit, bristol-cathedral.co.uk/visit-us/pinkmans-cafe/
