Creating Bristol’s first disability-led brewery
A brewery overlooking the River Avon could soon become the first in the city staffed by adults with learning disabilities.
PROPS and Tapestry have previously worked together, but after the brewery went into liquidation earlier this year, the charity now has even more ambitious aims.
The charity supports adults with learning disabilities to gain work skills and put them into practice, with the previous linkup seeing PROPS trainees brewing, designing and launching two beers with the Tapestry team.
PROPS are the new owners of Tapestry and will soon be running their taproom in St Philip’s Marsh as well as brewing new beers.
The goal is to challenge perceptions of what adults with learning difficulties can achieve as well as running a profitable business that can provide real and meaningful work opportunities for PROPS trainees in the future.
