Bristol brewery celebrates 15 wins at community beer awards
A Bristol brewery has won more than a dozen awards described as “a worldwide celebration of the very best in craft beverages”.
The awards are determined by ratings from users of Untappd, the world’s largest beer rating platform which has nearly 11 million users worldwide.
Left Handed Giant secured ten awards across its main operation while a further five were awarded to beers produced at its Left Handed Giant Brewpub.

Among the top honours were gold medals for Kiwi Aura w/ Mac Hops in the New Zealand IPA category, Kiwi Aura w/ Pikimai Hops for New Zealand Pale Ale, Sicilian Lemonade Radler in the Radler category and Take Me Nowhere in the Milk Stout category.
Additional silver medals went to beers including Kiwi Aura w/ Freestyle Hops (Hazy Double IPA), Zesty Grapefruit Radler (Radler), Starkad w/ Vinohradský Pivovar (Czech Pilsner) and Nine Years Later (Gluten Free).
Bronze medals were also awarded to Twin Cities: Peacherine & Motueka (Gluten Free) and Cormoran w/ Verdant (Hazy Double IPA).
Meanwhile, beers brewed at the Left Handed Giant Brewpub collected five awards, including gold for 1880 Porter in the Historical Beer category, silver for Hefeweizen (Wheat Beer) and bronze medals for 1890 X Ale (Light Mild) and Italo Pils (Italian Pilsner).
Founder Jack Granger said how the awards were chosen made them particularly meaningful.
“Winning 15 Untappd Community Awards across Left Handed Giant and LHG Brewpub is something truly special to us, because these awards come directly from the people who drink our beer,” he told Bristol24/7.
“Untappd is the world’s largest beer rating platform, with nearly 11 million users globally, and every single award is determined purely by community ratings.
“To have our community here rate our beers among the very best, across so many different beer categories, is the kind of recognition that means more to us than any industry accolade.
“We brew beer for the people who come through our doors and choose to drink our beer, so to have them vote with their ratings in this way is incredibly meaningful.”

The Untappd Community Awards celebrate the highest rated beers in each style based on user check-ins and ratings during the calendar year.
To qualify, each beer must receive at least 50 ratings from 50 unique users, with rankings determined purely by the average score given by the community.
2025’s awards honoured more than 25,000+ top-rated drinks from 7,100 producers in 100 countries.
