Shoun Shoun return with brand new single

By Issy Packer  Tuesday Apr 9, 2024

Following the release of their debut album Monsters & Heroes in 2022, experimental rock four-piece
Shoun Shoun return with their brand new single, We Woke The Monster.

Moving between art rock and noise pop, the band embrace the duality of darkness and bliss, the melody versus the cacophony.

Their music twists, turns and rotates and We Woke The Monster features angular melodies and cascading drums, the track is a loud condemnation of every terrible relationship you’ve ever had.

The latest single from the local band looks at some difficult subjects, including the effects of gaslighting and emotional abuse.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

We Woke The Monster takes a look at narcissistic people that have an inflated sense of self-importance, a lack of empathy and use charm and deceit to manipulate the people around them.

Alongside the single, a brand new music video was released by the band which premiered on March 31.

While the single was released on Soundcloud at the same time, it will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 21.
