José Padilha helms the third film about the 1976 counter-terrorist hostage rescue mission
Avengers: Infinity War is breaking records, Black Panther is still with us, and there are previews of Deadpool 2 all over the shop from Tuesday.
If you’ve had your fill of superheroes, there are plenty of other new releases this week to suit all tastes. The Watershed has grisly arthouse horror Revenge, the playful Redoubtable and an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s How to Talk to Girls at Parties. Elsewhere, alleged larfs are on offer in Life of the Party and there’s a third film about the Entebbe hostage rescue mission, while nippers are catered for with Sherlock Gnomes in 2D and 3D. Over at the Orpheus, they’ve got an exclusive local run of John Hurt’s final film, That Good Night.
There’s even more Neil Gaiman in spider documentary Sixteen Legs, which gets its UK premiere locally, courtesy of Wildscreen. The Bristol Bad Film Club has two events – Best F(r)iends and Rawhead Rex. And there’s plenty of event cinema, including the 75th anniversary of The Dam Busters beamed live from the Albert Hall, Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella and the musical version An American in Paris.
